oak grove has quite a few cracks in the sidewalk, effects especially those with any mobility issues
replies
as a resident i would love to see more fast casual and also healthy options - eg. a sandwich shop, coffee shop, etc. I would like to see these business cater to a fair price point of goods as well
replies
vacant lot holders should also be accountable for keeping their grounds mowed and lawns clean
replies
have some sort of system that hold homeowners accountable for their lawn care and not having trash in lawns
replies
Suggestion
if possible, encourage residents of the community to be involved in what kind of art goes in, or for residents to be some of the artists
replies
Suggestion
while adding businesses to locations, also make sure these areas have pedestrian walkways, crossing lights, and/or street lights to ensure safety of businesses and consumers.
replies
in reply to Daniel Klein's comment
Suggestion
Emphasis on where possible and also where aesthetically doable - many of these neighborhoods are established; new homes or businesses facing alleys will be out of place and take away from existing neighborhood feel instead of enhancing.
replies
Suggestion
Install shade structures in places where tree canopy cannot work or will take too long to develop.
replies
Suggestion
Talk to Dr. Jeremy Hoffman about ideal air quality tracking systems already in place elsewhere. Explore Smart streetlight initiative already underway through DPU.
replies
Suggestion
Place bike racks in street parking spaces closest to intersections to daylight corners and maintain ADA compliance for sidewalks.
replies
Suggestion
Encourage alley-facing housing and businesses where possible to support gentle density and housing diversity. Make alleys pedestrian- and bike-friendly over car-friendly as they are natural community pathways.
replies
Suggestion
Emphasis on just transition to a green economy. Encourage existing businesses to pursue certifications and education on green technologies (EV maintenance, solar installation/maintenance, battery fabrication, sustainable landscaping, etc.
replies
Suggestion
"streateries"
replies
Suggestion
These neighborhoods, enhanced by excellent urban design and a vibrant artistic presence, create a beautiful, safe, well-lit, and walkable community that serves the needs of all its residents.
replies
Suggestion
Mandatory tree cut down if it affects your neighbors property as well. My neighbor’s tree root made my pipes burst.
replies
Suggestion
Not sure where this would fit in, but there should required pest and rodent control in the neighborhood. The mosquitoes are terrible here. Even when I get my pest spray, it makes no difference if the neighbors do not.
replies
Suggestion
Every time the police has been called to my house, which is A LOT, they have done little nothing to help me feel safer. Detection work rarely ever gets looked at. If at all.
replies
Suggestion
Anyone caught (in-person or via camera footage) littering should be fined heavily
replies
Suggestion
This neighborhood is too dangerous not to have this already. These should be installed within a couple blocks from each other.
replies
Suggestion
Extending the sidewalk on Gordon Ave from 15th Street to Commerce road will significantly improve the walkability/connectivity for Oak Grove to Manchester
replies
I love to see this being looked at. It feels like the area is very underserved when you look at the police districts
replies
Suggestion
Pedestrian lighting instead of street lighting would be better for the Oak Grove neighborhood with more vehicle break ins occurring and walkers
